O trabalho discute a importância de fortalecer a governança, transparência e accountability em Botswana por meio de auditorias públicas centradas no cidadão. Analisa o baixo índice de participação pública no processo de auditoria, identifica fatores limitantes e destaca a necessidade de reformas legais e institucionais para ampliar o engajamento cidadão. Apresenta o panorama institucional e desafios enfrentados pelo país, comparando com práticas internacionais. Propõe recomendações para aprimorar a participação cidadã, como revisão de marcos legais, uso de tecnologias e maior acessibilidade das informações. O estudo enfatiza o papel das auditorias cidadãs para a democracia e o desenvolvimento sustentável.

Chief auditor, SAI Botswana. Expert in Policy Development and Policy Analysis. Expert in research and Analysis. Expert in identification of business areas, assessing risks, methodology for Prioritisation of audits. Successfully facilitated the development of the first Annual overall Audit Plan (AOAP) in 2023. Accomplished certified performance auditor with eighteen (23) years of progressive experience in the field and very knowledgeable on the field. Performance Audit Best Performance for 2011/2012. Exceptional leader talented at facilitation of three (3) module performance audit course locally and regionally with outstanding training and presentation skills.
