The humanitarian reception and the internalization of Venezuelan migrants in Roraima

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the results of sheltering and internalization of Operação Acolhida, in the period from 2018 to 2021, despite the volume of resources directed to the public policy of the federal government in view of the worsening of the migratory crisis in the state of Roraima. Therefore, developing the study in a predominantly bibliographic methodology, with the collection of public data and studies about the migratory process, its causes and impacts on Brazilian society, we sought to examine the results of the program, considering the stages of sorting, sheltering and, finally, interiorization. It is also noteworthy that, for the purposes of this analysis, internalization is interpreted as one of the objectives of public policy, in order to unburden the state machine and insert this population into society, so that the organization of the measure, the displacement of human resources and the risks inherent to the development of Operação Acolhida show a possible collapse due to the inefficiency and possible discontinuity of the service.
