The purpose of data governance in external control organizations

Abstract
There are different levels of governance in an organization, whether dealing with strategies, IT, data in general or open data. Data are manageable assets,
whether for the healthy operation of the institution or for sophisticated data analysis. This paper aims at defining the utility of data governance in this context, as well as the basic elements for its implementation with a bias for External Control organizations.
